FINDING YOUR AUDIENCE ON SOCIAL MEDIA
Social media is one of the best ways to launch new products, songs, album, band and artists. It’s important to find you target audience. The internet has made marketing so much easy and it’s right at your fingertips. Here are some great tips to find your audience on social media as a singer and/or songwriter.
There are four main categories for finding your target audience: demographic, psychographic, behavioral and geographic segmentation. The demographic segmentation deals with the type of consumer’s age, gender, income, occupation, nationality and marital status. The psychographic is based on beliefs, values, lifestyle, social status and interests. The behavioral segmentation uses people’s activities to determine which type of advertisements and messages will speak to the audience. The geographic segmentation divides the audience into geographic location based on country, area, and even zip code.
You don’t need to hire a marketing research company to find your audience. Just choose the social media outlet(s) that you will use for your brand. If you use Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin or Youtube, choose an account that is like yours, or what you want to become. Notice the hashtags your competitors are using in their posts. Analyze your competitor’s website and notice what type of posts bring more views. If you have multiple social media accounts try to integrate them. It’s important to respond to conversations on your social media accounts if you can.
Semrush is another great website to use to find your target audience. They give you lots of stats on all kinds of marketing categories.
